Surprisingly better than the first!

Ice Cube and Kevin Hart lacked chemistry in buddy-cop film Ride Along. Ice Cube's 'take no prisoners' approach to Hart's serious (opposite) one actually pays off this time round. They're huge fun in comparison. Ride Along 2 is a significant step upward, but still doesn't pass what Mark Kermode calls the 'six laugh test. I laughed twice. The same joke gets rinsed and repeated; Ben (Hart) wants James' (Cube) affection and acceptance, whilst James belittles Ben round every corner. It's nearing Ben's wedding day, and the 'brothers-in-law' are off catching drug smugglers in Miami. A dialled- down Ken Jeong and strict cop Olivia Munn save this film from drowning, and give it the boost it very much needed.

Storyline

The RIDE ALONG 2 sequel picks up about a year after our heroes' last adventure. Plans for a quick trip to Miami go bad. With the wedding upcoming, James reluctantly takes Ben with him to Miami to follow up on a lead connected to a drug-ring case he's been trying to crack. In Miami, they meet Maya, a no-b.s homicide who lets them know, Miami is her turf. They also encounter AJ a shady, cocky computer hacker who reveals evidence that implicates a well- respected local businessman, the wealthy Antonio Pope, who harbors a vicious streak and rules South Florida's drug trade. If Ben and James can convince the authorities that Pope is a brutal crime boss they'll stop his spree. If they fail, well there may not be a wedding after all. Viewed The Worse Movie I have ever seen tonight...

"Dirty grandpa" with Bobby De Niro.... I cannot recall in recent memory where I have seen such unbelievably bad writing. If you watch it, you will see from the gitgo how horrific it was.

The humor was not even "stupid funny" ( which I like). It was just bizarrely stupid.

The Movie's attempt at gross humor or crude humor failed at every level.

The delivery of the jokes were totally disorganized , the timing and context of them were way off, and it was very forced and just all over the place, like a 12 year old boy going through puberty would write.


Storyline

Jason Kelly's grandmother passes away. After the funeral, his grandfather, Dan wants him to drive him to Florida. Jason's a lawyer who works with his father who doesn't like his father. Jason also engaged to a snooty girl. Jason reluctantly agrees to drive him, he promises his fiancee that he will be back for the rehearsal dinner. But Dan appears to be on the prowl looking for some action. They run into a girl, Jason knew before. There's an attraction between them but Jason doesn't act on it. But Dan wants him to.
